I thought I would share a few mid production photos

Greetings for this New Year and may your miniature marvels be lucrative and grand this coming year .

Following on from the previous blog I thought I would share a few mid production photos so that the chimney stack makes sense when attached to a house. This is only half of the construction but to give an idea of size the depth is 26", height 31" and width 16". It is all wood construction with a plaster coat finish so far touch real wood I haven't needed to buy any bought parts. The concept is based on an ornament house we found in a charity shop, please excuse the dusty interior as I said it is work in progress. So I'll post a few more as it progresses .

Oooops didn't realise it had been so long

Belated Merry Xmas and just in time for the New Year to you all.

Sorry about the lack of con flab but I have been hard at work trying to finish Rachels Xmas present that she asked for ..... yes another model !! It is proving to be a very challenging project but at the same time a very good learning experience. Of coarse I can't show any pictures yet as I have only shown Rachel the chimney stack so far for colour and finish approval . It's a neo-Gothic manor house type , unfortunately due to the adverse weather I have been unable to spend as much time on it due to the shed being cut off with no heating in the snow so I've lost 3 weeks somewhere ... never mind cracking on with it maybe complete for Xmas next year !!! Only joking Rachel ...XXXX

Well .... IT is nearly finished !!!

Greetings .... well my IT is nearly finished so I thought I would share a few pictures ... I still have to complete the outside scene but I think I now have a theme and a name for it . A Smithy forge ... so I will be doing a small stable enclosure out the front and some furniture in line a rustic image for inside . I will also be ageing and stressing it , the structure is mostly timber from the local forest so has been REAL good fun sanding , cutting and just in fact working it but it does provide a satisfactory appearance I think. Have you ever tried to find a straight stick in a forest ? Well , I tried and failed miserably but hopefully I built their uniqueness into the building. If you need to know more about any of the bits that I did then please drop me a line . I'll post some more pictures when it completes. Well ... hopefully I'll find a buyer for this unique building so that I can have room for the next.

Well just a little update

 Greetings all and welcome new followers , as I have been absent for a while I thought I would just drop a quick few lines to show you how my folly is progressing ...and yes I am still enjoying doing it but still haven't decided what it is ...well it's just and IT ....
In a clockwise direction my spiral staircase which has suspended stairs , top balcony with my plaster stressed oak panelling behind, wooden weather boards on the outside and my polystyrene oven/ fireplace and exposed beams. Hopefully the building will be completed by the end of the week ..... but we will see .... but I'll be back ...THQ for reading

Firstly, Greetings to my new followers yet more talented people ....  I'm honoured !!!


Well to let to let you know what I've been up to .... firstly on the castle front things are progressing slowly but due to the projected size of the project I need to find a large enough area to build and place it and also I am discussing with the people of Margam about a few things i.e. detailed plans ... haha but I am still looking forward to it .

 Meanwhile I've cracked on with a whimsical folly to try out a few techniques and ideas , well it certainly isn't everybodies cup of tea but I'm enjoying going freelance on it and feel influenced by LOTR and Terry Pratchett ideas so anyway you guys have a look and let me know if you want to.

 It's basically a split level 3 story house with a lower floor of cotswold finish stonework and an upper timber levels , the roof well I've still to decide on yet. The cotswold stones are made from polystyrene all individually cut to give depth and features and the floorboards is plaster on mixed board. How far and it all goes I don't know yet but it's FUN to play .... I 'll post more as it happens ...meanwhile thank yo all again for following.
